Dr. Yan transitions a successful career in finance—where he served as a registered investment advisor, board director of a HK listed company, and founder of asset management and brokerage firms—into marine scientific innovation. After returning to The University of Hong Kong to complete his PhD at the School of Biological Sciences, he specialized in pearl oyster aquaculture, biofouling control, and aquaculture economics. As a committee advisor to the AFCD and an active collaborator with local fish culture zones, Dr. Yan combines deep industry knowledge, regulatory expertise, and strong community ties to drive sustainable marine innovation.
Professor Billy K.C. Chow is a distinguished endocrinologist and Chair Professor of Endocrinology at The University of Hong Kong. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious accolades, including the international Grace Pickford Medal and the Akira Arimura Young Investigator Award. Professor Chow has made seminal discoveries in molecular endocrinology, including the identification of novel bioactive peptides. Recently, his research focus has expanded to drug discovery and the pharmaceutical applications of pearl powder, leading to the establishment of two spinoff companies. As Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Pearl Power, Professor Chow leverages his extensive expertise to drive the development of innovative, science-backed health products.
Ms. Mok is dedicated to promoting holistic health and wellness through her extensive expertise across marketing, manufacturing, business development, education, and complementary therapies. She previously served as Marketing Director for two companies, successfully guiding their international expansion. She is the founder of 'Urban Angel,' a spiritual and wellness center, and co-owner of 'Sweet as Sugar,' an urban lifestyle retail business. Driven by a passion for well-being, Ms. Mok aims to inspire individuals to live healthy, vibrant, and fulfilling lives.
